Beagle CHAIR TAXI
The use of CHAIR TAXIS is time saving for the nursing staf because of the fewer transfers to perform. An even bigger advantage comes from savings on the effort neede during the transfer and the stand-up movement of the patients.
The CHAIR TAXI is a concept in itself. The design is already on the market since 1995 and there are more than 2000 units operational. Especially in geriatrics the seat taxis are used. In 2009, a number of versions were added with different applications. All versions are built from the basic model:
a) CHAIR TAXI classic
b) CHAIR TAXI with for positioning
c) CHAIR TAXI classic with brake module and fixation position
d) CHAIR TAXI with stand-up function
The CHAIR TAXI Classic is basic model where users don't need instructions to use it. This type is advantageous when large groups use the taxi seat. Transfers over short and long distances are possible.
The CHAIR TAXI for table positioning is a shortened version of the CHAIR TAXI classic. This model is useful when many seats have to be positioned in a short time at the table. The model is not suitable for long distance transfers for example between chamber a to chamber b.
The CHAIRTAXI with brake module and fixation position is useful in rooms with a lack of space. The chair has more functionalities than the CHAIR TAXI classic, but requires a bit more insturctions to use. The use of this type is largely in line with the instructions needed to use a patient lift.
The CHAIR TAXI with stand-up function is designed for patients who do not have (temporarily) the 100% function in the stand-up movement, and need some assistance. Depending on the capacity of the patient, it is possible that the stand-up help is carried out by the patient itself or by the nurse.
Practices are showing that patients could sit longer in ordinary chairs, so that personal wheelchairs can be used in a later stage. In addition, the stand-up feature has a pulsating effect. People who have a 100% stand-up function, but sometimes don't understand what the intention is, can be activated easily to stand-up without tension.
