iOSS is standing for intelligent Order and Supply System. This software is developped by mattteo to manage in an easy way the intralogistic material flow inside hospitals. It works perfect together with a Kan-Ban ("Empty-Full") stock management combined with the iPANEL and the MODUL-iT system.
The iOSS manages the stock in the of the hospital departments and sends the orders in real time trough the iPANEL to the internal suppliers: central warehouse, pharmacy, central sterilisation.
The "Empty-Full” order system is based on a double compartment for each product stored on the departments. Each compartment contains an equal quantity that is sufficient for a restocking cycle, for example twice a week. A double label holder with inside two RFID labels is clipped on the active compartment. This is the compartment where the nurses are taking the product. On the moment that a nurse takes the last product from the active compartment, she clips the label holder on the second compartment and she removes the RFID label in the front from the label holder and puts it on the iPANEL. The information, that this product has reached his order level is sent in real time to the client of the warehouse that supplies this product. During the time that is required for supplying the empty compartment, the products in the second compartment are used.

Besides with the iPANEL, it is possible to use the iOSS software with a barcode scanner. All RFID labels have standard also a barcode. Working with a barcode scanner implies that the real time features are not longer applicable.
